Civil Engineer Position Location: Mokopane Limpopo (Partially work from home) Salary R55 000 – R65 000CTC Duties & Responsibilities Typical tasks for this role: Perform detail designs (civil works, water retaining structures, buildings, design of gravity and pressure pipeline systems, hydraulic designs, pump selection), Generate and review of detail construction drawings, Generate and review of detail Bill of Quantities in accordance with SANS 1200 specifications, Generate detail design reports and other technical reports, Plan, schedule and communicate various tasks for completion on various projects (Program and Project Management of various projects), Generate standard procedures and documents to improve work efficiency, Conduct site inspections to ensure project conformance to safety, quality of work, costs of work, and completion within the project time, Source, negotiate, appoint and manage civil sub-contractors, Perform various site measurements or tests to confirm the correctness of the Works (level checks, materials checks, tests results and others) Solve various issues within the constraints of the project, contract specifications, budget, time and various other constraints on the various projects, Review and approve subcontractor progress claims for payment, Timely prepare and submit monthly progress claims to the Client for payment, Timely prepare and submit monthly progress reports to the Client, Collect, prepare and submit for approval claims or variation orders on the Works, Notify the project manager in a timely manner of any event or information which might affect the quality, time to complete or cost of the Works Attend technical, project and client meetings, Host and lead technical, project and progress meetings, Record and file all project related information, Establish, build and maintain at all times good relationship with all stakeholders Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications: BEng/BScEng/BTech in Civil Engineering Experience: At least 4 years of related civil works experience, At least 2 years of experience with performing civil works on mines, At least 2 years of experience in completing detail designs, generate technical reports, generate detail construction drawings and generate BOQ’s At least 3 years of experience on the design and construction of reinforced concrete structures which exceed a footprint of 300m2 At least 3 years of experience in the management of multiple civil sub-contractors At least 3 years of experience in completing projects safety, within time, to the specified quality standards and within the project budget. At least 3 years of experience in planning, scheduling, organising and managing civil engineering activities on site. Knowledge: Working understanding and interpreting of the various GCC & FIDIC forms of Contract Writing of letters or notifications to the Engineer or the Employer Know how to mitigate issues and resolve problems Know how to work with other people Comprehensive understanding of the Civil Engineer Construction Industry and standard practices Works prioritisation Package & Remuneration R55000 - R65000CTC
