Senior Legal Project Manager Location: Randburg Salary: R41 000 – R56 000CTC Duties & Responsibilities Position Details The holder of this position will be responsible for the support, guidance, and development of NGOs capacity and resources to empower and support the work done, in guiding and assisting Local Community Organisations in developing cases to hold the client to account. The incumbent must be passionate about helping local in doing so, strong interpersonal and communications skills, local government expertise and a thorough understanding of the local governance landscape in South Africa will be essential. Local government affairs management Drafting of legal letters, pleadings, applications, complaints (both civil and criminal) etc Case Planning Support, guidance and supervision of the legal team including but not limited to drafting/ implementation of/ management of legal processes. Understanding and management of legal team dynamics and encouraging good relationship Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum requirements: Proven Project Management experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in a local government specialist position. Degree in a legal or related field required Experience in active citizenship Working knowledge of local government legislation and terminology Understanding of accepted legal processes Training principles, development and delivery Sound working knowledge of MFMA, PFMA, Municipal Systems Act, Municipal Structures Act, and other relevant legislation.
