Limpopo - The main purpose of the role is to contribute to improved financial management performance in local government through improved policy implementation and technical capacity support. DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: Support plan and capacity building: Facilitate the adoption, publication and awareness of the approved Support Plan (SP). Stakeholder Engagements - participate in municipal management meetings and present progress reports on the implementation of the Municipal SP. Municipal capacity - Assist with evaluation of the municipal financial management staffing capabilities on an annual basis and provide recommendations to ensure sufficient capacity exists for effective skills transfer. Revenue value chain: Aligning all the critical revenue value chain processes that impact on the credibility of customer information used to generate complete, accurate and timely municipal account. Analysing the flow of information along the revenue value chain and provide guidance on how to effectively organise the transaction processing environment in terms of turnaround times and streamlining activities. Ensuring that information is correctly captured along the revenue value chain and validated by the billing system thereby improving the integrity of the billing data. Budgeting and budget funding plans: Assist with developing a credible funding plan in cases where an unfunded budget was adopted. Assist Treasuries and municipalities with the preparation of credible, funded and compliant medium-term budgets. REQUIREMENTS Requirements: Educational qualification obtained in Financial Management, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration. Experience in local government financial management or a component thereof. Managerial experience.
