A conglomerate pumps and vales company boasting over one hundred years of service in South Africa is seeking the technical skills of a Service Armature Winder to join their branch in Johannesburg. This market leader relies on the candidate having the experience set out below as a minimum requirement.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Ensure that the day-to-day duties are carried out efficiently. Ensure achievement with regards to on time delivery and ensure the demands of the pump repairing department are met. Conduct work activities in a professional manner that reflects positively on the image of the company, and conforms to current Health and Safety legislation, upholding the companies Health and Safety Policy.
Execute all work in accordance with all Policies and Procedures, according to SHEA regulations
Stripping of Boiler Water Circulating Pumps stators with the focus of minimizing damage to any parts
Damage assessment after stripping of parts
As per the job cards, record all required dimensions
Complete required paperwork (including photography) for each job accurately and on a timely basis
Execute all work in an efficient, professional and timely manner
Report any defective or warranty workmanship in a timely manner.
Marking up job cards with recommendations of methods or repairs
Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, or unusual conditions.
Checking all parts received against BOM
Rewind of stators for Boiler Water Circulating Pumps
Follow assembly procedures when assembling pumps and avoid damaging of parts
Carry out incoming inspections of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions to set procedures
Document all relevant data specific to unit’s electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.
Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including test panels, surge testers, grinders, cranes, and various hand held power and non-power tools.
Ensuring all work meets the appropriate standards and quality control criteria as set out by the company.
Be familiar with environmental aspects of activities undertaken in the role and the procedures and processes underpinning.
Ensure that the work, including tooling and equipment, is kept clean and tidy in accordance with company initiatives such as LEAN and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Perform all electrical tests as per company Procedures
Attend no load tests as sub-contractors, as and when required
Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
Key Skills Required:
Trade Test Qualified Armature Winder
10 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in working on rotating equipment / centrifugal pumps
HV winding experience would be advantageous.
Ability to meet deadlines / Work under pressure
