As a Store Manager you will be need to display the following characteristics:
Able to execute a retail strategy to increase sales within the business unit
Must be energetic and be prepared to work retail hours
Strong problem solving skills due to the fast moving environment and complexities of the business
Need to be able to lead, manage and drive a team of 10 to 20 staff members
Attention to detail and the ability to execute the system to ensure the stores conformance
Effective communication, ensures that stake holders are informed on all important concern staff
Strong leadership skills
Responsible for the entire administrational function ensuring compliance on all levels
Experience / Skills and Knowledge:
This person will have been active in retail for 7 years and currently managing a retail operation for at least 4 years.
Possess a thorough understanding of the entire stock management function covering but not limited to procurement, merchandising technique, shrinkage prevention and the administrational function of stock movement in and out of the business.
Need to have an understanding of HR management and ensure that all related administration is in place when dealing with staff
Financial acumen with a solid understanding of the income statement and the various aspect thereof. Display a clear understanding of cost of sales, gross profits, incomes and expenditures.
