A diversified financial services organisation providing a broad range of retirement, consulting, asset management, insurance and wealth management solutions has an opening for an IT Project Manager, who will manage one or more agile projects to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi disciplinary, highly skilled digital team.
Support critical business strategies by managing the development, implementation and delivery of application systems.
Responsible for monitoring the development lifecycle process to ensure quality deliverables within budget and timeline constraints.
Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
Ensure that technology solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with architectural principles, standards and roadmaps.
Work with the Product Manager to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories.
Develop project management and resource strategies including staffing requirements, budgets, and tools.
Mobilise team members for a project.
Manage the project's financials, such that the stated financial goals can be achieved (deviations are identified early, and corrective actions are taken).
Manage changes that will impact cost, schedule, scope, or contract terms.
Monitor risk management or mitigation plans and strategies.
Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha or beta or production).
Complete data analyses to ensure the project is on schedule.
Complete bi-weekly project progress reports based on sprint planning items and deliverables.
Improve operational processes to enable speed of delivery.
Maintain vendor relationship for outsourced team members.
Resolve escalated issues arising from projects.
Collaborate with other teams and departments to deliver projects.
Establish priority of projects and align the technology to support the information requirements of the business to meet strategic business and system objective.
Assess data, systems, and organizational impacts as related to proposed tactical solutions.
Managing the stakeholders to ensure support and timely decision making.
Providing the business with a Single Point of Contact for issues that may affect the solution and solution delivery.
Coach, mentor and manage a diverse on site and offshore teams.
Approve leave requests for direct reports.
Create and manage a leave plan to ensure adequate coverage over holiday periods and aligned to project deliverables.
Improve employee engagement and maintaining a highly engaged people compliment.
Identify training needs of employees by making sure that all employees have a Personal Development Plan.
Manage performance of employees by making sure that there is a performance management contract for each direct report.
Identify and develop talent by identifying gaps and Perform the recruitment of staff in accordance with company policies and procedures by collaborating with Human Resources Department.
Takes positive steps to monitor, address and control periods of absence from work by having regular return to work meetings and seeking the most appropriate support available.
Compulsory degree in computer science or related field.
Five (5) years of experience managing project for application design and system development to include four (4) years progressive managerial experience.
Proven experience in delivering digital projects and products.
Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods.
