A multinational leader in the Engineering sector is looking for an experienced Resource Project Manager to join their expanding Team. The successful candidate will manage the efficient and effective sourcing and deployment of skills within the business according to business plans and project requirements.
Relevant tertiary qualification (B. Com / B. Eng degree would be preferred)
Project management diploma beneficial
Need to have strong commercial background
Experience in participating in management meetings; good understanding of general business processes and be an expert in functional processes
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a similar managerial role with strong project management experience
Knowledge of relevant legislation and application thereof - BCEA, LRA, EE, OHSA, POPI Act, Skills Development Act
Ability to manage a significant workload under pressure.
Develop and review a resource management strategy and develop a plan for successful implementation thereof.
Provide resources to the business as per project requirements that involves assessing the engagement needs, reviewing available options, and recommending people that meet the requirements.
Review project resourcing schedules, and make recommendations on the most efficient utilization of resources.
Liaise, influence and challenge stakeholders effectively to address resource needs and deal with any conflicts.
Monitor contract management and service level agreements with all labour brokers and continuously monitor compliance thereof.
Prioritize staffing decisions based on project risk, specialization requirements, timing constraints, and geographic considerations.
Monitor unassigned resources, and act as primary point of contact for unassigned staff; proactively identify assignments for these resources to ensure optimal recovery.
Manage the scheduling and on-boarding process of new hires (pre-medicals, induction, legal liability training, PPE etc.).
Conduct post-project analysis and evaluation and provide feedback to relevant Departmental Heads.
Provide up-to-date management information, analysis and advice on resource availability, actual and projected resource utilization, and total headcount
Ensure that staff are appropriately matched to jobs which are challenging and developmental; balance the needs of the individual with those of the business and build a skills data base.
Coordinate with the training team, to recommend, schedule and provide training for all staff.
Develop and manage the resources team with regards to performance management, training & development and corrective behaviour where necessary.
Develop, review and implement resource policies and procedures as per best practice guidelines, business requirements and good corporate governance.
Manage the Resources Database as per business requirements and ensure that information is updated with relevant supporting documentation as required.
