The Procurement Supervisor/Buyer is responsible for planning, ordering, selecting and purchasing a range of products that are sold in the organisation. Liasing with current and new suppliers,ensuring products remain competitive. Keeping up to date with market trends and effecting changes associated with consumer demands, are key elements of the role.
Diploma in Procurement Management will be an advantage.
4-5 years’ experience within a similar role.
At least 3 years exposure within the Retail and Distribution industry.
Computer Literacy - Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft applications software (MS Office; Word, Excel).
Strong analytical skills.
Negotiating skills and the ability to network and influence people.
Team working and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Good organisation skills and the ability to multitask.
Supplier Management (Meeting suppliers to establish products, pricing, warranties, guarantees and terms).
Identifying of new suppliers for alternate and future products.
Planning and execution of the organisation Product strategy plan.
Stock buy outs, stock rotation and stock returns management.
Analysing consumer buying patterns and providing input for future trends.
Purchasing stock and non-stock items for the organisation and customer orders.
